Job Description:
We are a small, family-owned shop in Colorado Springs seeking a skilled and experienced Master Tech Mechanic to join our team. This position offers the chance to develop specialized expertise working primarily on Ram Promaster vans, with occasional work on Ford Transit vans. The successful candidate will become highly efficient and knowledgeable, earning more through flag hours and contributing to a supportive, family-oriented work environment.
Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance primarily on Ram Promaster vans (90%) and Ford Transit vans (10%).
Use your expertise to quickly identify and address mechanical issues.
Maintain a high standard of quality and safety in all work performed.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Master Tech or diesel/mechanic with a strong background in van repair.
Ability to work efficiently and independently.
Excellent diagnostic skills and attention to detail.
Valid driver’s license and necessary certifications.
Perform thorough automotive diagnostics to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
Requirements
Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic with a solid understanding of automotive repair processes.
Familiarity with automotive electrical systems, powertrain components, and alignment procedures.
Experience working in a dealership setting is preferred; knowledge of Ram Promaster vehicles is a plus.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively.
Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
Welding skills are advantageous for certain repair tasks.
Excellent problem-solving abilities combined with strong attention to detail.
Good customer service skills to interact positively with clients regarding their vehicle repairs.
A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications in automotive service are a plus.
Conduct routine vehicle maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
Repair and replace components of automotive systems such as engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete repairs efficiently.
Interpret schematics and technical manuals to assist in troubleshooting vehicle issues.
Welding skills are advantageous for certain repair tasks.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs while maintaining high-quality standards.
Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and diesel engine repair techniques.
